Went around and looked at stationary today as shaun and I will be doing our own invitations (I mean I may as well use my graphic design fiance for something), and man I have soooo many awesome ideas. Found suuuch great paper and cards and such. Oh my god. You're all going to love and adore my invites when they're sent out. Too good.

Went and looked at centrepiece ideas as well. Came up with three that we love and are debating on. Speaking of debate, We're now torn between getting married on the beach or in a garden. My votes on beach. We're almost always at the beach, it's where shaun proposed, and I always said I'd probably wind up getting married barefoot on the beach someday hahaha. It's just more significant to us. The only pro to having a garden wedding is that we'd more than likely be able to have to reception at the same venue and cut some costs on transport. But we'll figure all this out soon enough. Plenty o' time.

We also changed our wedding colours. We're now going with pastel blue, pastel yellow, and black. So much better. Essentially it's the same except we changed the 'jade green' to 'pastel blue' as it's more easy to find dresses, decor, etc. in that colour.

And oh man, I'm obbsessed with the message board at www.weddingcentral.com.au THESE WOMEN ARE AMAZING! I have found so many cheap, easy, wonderful ideas on this site. I'm going to sit there and lurk like you couldn't even imagine. Just watch me....

So just to play around with ideas, shaun and I were discussing honeymoons. Cuz let's face it, that's one of the coolest parts of the wedding. We'll be getting married in feb. Which, sure is summer over here. But Winter mostly EVERYWHERE else in the world. So I'm thinking either Jamaica or The Bahamas would be good. Shaun is sort of thinking europe though. Italy and/or Paris to be exact.
THE BAHAMAS
I've been to the bahamas in feb and it was the perfect climate. Not too mention, we'll be in america for a little while before the actual honeymoon, and thus could just hop on the day cruise from florida and sail on over to the bahamas.
JAMAICA
Jamaica? Well, it's JAMAICA. Who DOESN'T want to go there? Need I say more?
EUROPE
I wouldn't mind europe in the winter, and I would give up an internal organ to ski italia. But I dunno if I could handle being there and NOT skiing! And somehow I think once I get shaun on the slopes in NY, he's still going to be icing his butt a bit too much to ski some more. Paris could also be wonderful, even in the cold, but I'm afraid the icey conditions will only make the cold-hearted french even more bitter haha.

We also mulled around with the ideas of Africa, and India. I'd have the time of my life in Africa, but that's more on a historical, cultural, "Back to the Motherland" level. I don't think a honeymoon is supposed to be comprised of looking at Apartheid Museums anyway.

I know we're supposed to 'never leave the hotel *wink wink*' when we're on honeymoon anyway, but I want to do other things too!

My vote is on The Bahamas.

So the date is set, feb 24th 2007. We've decided that the colours will be yellow, champagne, and jade green. We're still shopping around for reception/ceremony venues; but at the moment, Veale Gardens and the Pavilion on the same premises are topping the list. We're looking at a garden wedding, obviously. And if you live in the states and fear you won't be able to make it, don't sweat it! If all goes as planned, We'll be headed your way not long after the wedding to party once again haha. Anything else at the moment? A rough draft of the guest list is in the process of being prepared, though I'm sure it will be revised a couple times.

And if you're reading up on this for the first time, you have got to see the ring! Have a look:

your lovely bride and groom to be:

xo
